Buy the New Issue of Coilhouse- With My Art [Dec. 27th, 2008|12:19 pm]

The new issue of Coilhouse just launched today, and I am so unbelievably honored to be a part of it. If you never say Mondo 2000 or the Yellow Book or the first edition of the New Yorker or Spy or any other legendary mag during its glory days, you must buy Coilhouse, because it is in that league.

It has interviews with Margaret Cho! The tracked down RU Sirius! There's swank design and rounded corners!

I did Rococo aristocrat paper dolls for the back.

Go on, you know you want to....

I'm also so grateful to our branches, who spread the art virus to 65 cities around the world.

We adore you

Something Awful [Nov. 17th, 2008|02:29 pm]
Can I mention how much I love these guys? Cause they just found my Politics piece, and are giving it one of the most thoughtful, detailed viewings it's ever gotten- in or out of the art world. They get all the jokes! They even made an LJ icon out of my favorite one!

I'm genuinely more touched by this that 99% of fanmail I get. I just wish I had any account so I could post a little thanks. If anyone has an account, want to post a message from me?

"I've thoroughly enjoyed working as a web monkey for Dr. Sketchy's empire. I get the latest news on all the events before anyone and I get to break it to the world by updating the website. I enjoy the marketing tasks and helping to further the glitz and glam that is Dr. Sketchy's!"

- Dolly Dahl (web programmer)

"One of the most interesting and beneficial moves of my career, so far, has been responding to a Dr. Sketchy's help wanted ad. The projects I've done with Molly are sooo much fun and allow me to get really creative with my designs --- there's nothing like doing work that you love!"

Election Night [Nov. 5th, 2008|01:33 am]
We did it. All of us. We worked and phonebanked and volenteered and gave more money than we could afford, and god, we did it. Tonight I walked through the city and saw it reborn. We hugged and danced in the streets. We high fived and set off fireworks and smiled at stangers. Union Square was a mob scene.

We knew triumph and redemption. We got a smarty pants big city guy with a funny name elected president, despite having everything against us. We took our country back.

God bless you President Obama.
