Hey Comrades,

I have not one, not two, but three excellent things going on at San Diego Comic-Con in two weeks
---

1. I'm tabling at Booth #433!

For the first time ever, I have my own wee table at Comic-Con, in the depraved X-Sanguin booth. I'm sharing space with legendary gig artists R. Black, Brian Ewing, and Bawidaminn. There's a photo area at the booth, and I'll be doing a few mini Dr. Sketchy's during the Con. See me Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

----

2. Dr. Sketchy's does it SDCC Style

dames! drinks! drawing! debauchery! It's our One Year San Diego Sketchy's Anniversary. Hang on to your pencils. On July 26th, artists will get the chance to sketch glamorous, burlesque inspired models, down drinks, and try their pencils at drawing contests.

w/ LA's legendary model muses, The Gallery Girls as the heroines of history.
Hosted by Molly Crabapple and Miss Lily.
With free ice cream from The Ice Cream Man, and tunes from DJ Savvy

Saturday, July 26th
7-10 pm
@
The Local
1065 Fourth Ave, between C Street and Broadway
(just a walk or 5-minute cab ride from the convention center)

$10/$5 for Comic-Con Badge Holders
bring your own art supplies

----

3.
During the 19th century, absinthe was the muse of artists- the fuel of cancan halls- the drink of Paris and New Orleans. But, for much of the 20th century, absinthe has been banned in the US.

Until now. To celebrate the recent legalization of the Green Fairy, Le Tourment Vert and Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School present a life-drawing tribute to all things absinthe.

Artists will draw internationally renowned model Delirium Tremens in a sumptuous Moulin Rouge inspired set, and compete for prizes and surprises from le Tourment Vert.

Saturday, July 12,
3-6 pm,

at the Lucky Cat (245 Grand St, btw Driggs and Roebling)
Tickets are $10, or $15 for table seating, and are available at www.drsketchy.com

Absolutely badass Dr. Sketchy's today. Some sessions just kind of click between theme and crew, crowd and model, and the resulting warm-fuzziness is just a joy to experience. Fem Appeal always clicks.

In Edinburgh this summer, I'm performing in a continuous vaudeville show. They satanic emcee will steal two folks from the audience and I (in artist drag) will paint them while other acts perform. After a few acts do their thing, they'll release the rubes and I'll show the painting. Which may or may not be donkey fucking.

Started playing with artists drag.

And I decided that what you need to succeed in the highly competitive art field is a mustache.

Behold.

Come for the fabulously creative entertainment, the beautifully dressed crowds, on the co-mingling of so many different artists honing their skills in collaberation.

I'll be doing live, vintage-style caricatures of attendees.

I'm super excited to announce that me and John Leavitt just signed a deal with adult entertainment company Blowfish (for whom I did one of my most popular pieces of art), to do a 40 page story set in the world of Backstage. But not just any story- the absolutely scandelous tale of how Scarlet O'Herring made it to the top of vaudeville

Keep turned for details- and you can see the cover at San Diego Comic-Con

mermaid parade + Bloomberg

+ Yesterday the Dr. Sketchy's crew took over the Mermaid Parade. We were dressed as art monkeys, and generally jumped around, drew, waved banners and checked out the fabulousness on the altogether perfect day. Afterwords, me, Hilary and Mike dodged band aids in the Atlantic Ocean.

photo by Max Kovins. Art monkey, dammit. Not art mouse!

+ Then, I hauled my tired carcass to Randalls Island. The Box was running entertainment for this year's Bloomberg Company picnic, and I got to design a giant theatre curtain. Seeing my work 30 feet high was dizzying- more like a dream sequence than anything I ever expected to happen in real life. Pictures soon!
